This is it! Our first baby's out into this world and as new parents, we really are learning a lot especially in taking care of this new life that God has entrusted upon us. Our baby's name is Ralph Emmanuel (Ralph means "counselor", Emmanuel means "God is with us"..also Emmanuel is my husband's second name and I want our child to emulate his dad, so we also gave the same second name to him.) We call him Rael or Ralph for short. He was born last January 25, 2009 at 7:45pm by c-section (which we didn't expect) and he weighed 7.05 lbs!
We are now offcially a family -- Papa Obet, Mama Michelle & Baby Rael. I know there are a lot in store for us, both happy and challenging moments. But with God as the center of our family and with our supportive parents and friends, I know nothing is too hard in being first-time parents.
We feel so blessed with our baby boy (we really prayed for a boy), not to mention very proud because all those who saw our son were unanimous in saying he is a good-looking baby. But more than his physical appearance, what my husband and I pray for is that our child grows up loving and fearing the Lord and respecting us, his grandparents and other people. We may not be perfect people but we'll try our best to be the perfect parents for baby Rael, bringing him up in a Christian way.
